Former Agriculture Minister ‘Agri’ S.S. Krishnamoorthy, arrested by Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department on April 4 on charges of abetting a government official to commit suicide, filed his second bail application before the Madras High Court Bench here on Monday.

The application is expected to be listed for hearing before Justice G. Chockalingam during the weekly summer vacation sitting on Wednesday. The first application for bail was dismissed by Justice K. Kalyanasundaram on April 30, the last working day before the vacation began.

A similar plea for bail made by the former Minister before a Sessions Court in Tirunelveli district also ended up being dismissed on April 22. The CBCID sleuths had arrested him on April 4.
