ADGP reviews security for Thevar Jayanthi

The ADGP held discussions with Inspector General (IG) of Police (South zone) Abhay Kumar Singh, six Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs) and five Superintendents of Police (SPs) at the Police Recruit School in Kamudhi in the morning.

“It was a general discussion on bandobust arrangement,” Ramanathapuram SP N.M. Mylvahanan said. A total of 5,000 police personnel would be deployed at various places in the district on October 28, he told The Hindu .

It could cover a radius of five to seven kilometres, and its high resolution camera could zoom 20 times and record all the events.

DIGs M.C. Sarangan (Chennai), A. Amalraj (Tiruchi), M.T. Ganesamoorthy (Coimbatore) Sumit Sharan (Tirunelveli), Anand Kumar Somani (Madurai) and K. Periaiah (Chennai), and SPs Ashwin M.
