Mr. Nityanand, who was earlier issued summons, took part in the inquiry which lasted from 11.15 a.m. to 2.15 p.m. Mr. Scialla had contacted him for a report on Sterlite issue. Earlier, he had sought explanation on why he was summoned, said advocate E. Athisaya Kumar.
Mr. Nityanand said he had been providing scientific and legal help for the movement against Sterlite plant from 2007 and did not know Mr. Scialla before he contacted him. Following this, he had given the contact details of activist Fatima Babu.
