TNEB assessor assaulted


A Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Assessor, Muthiah, was assaulted by a father-son duo for recording three units over and above the actual power consumption by the family, at Satpur on Tuesday.

The police said that Muthiah had recorded in the power consumption card of A. Subramani of Salupatti as 14,300 while the meter reading showed 14,297. After an exchange of words, Subramani had reportedly assaulted him. His son Arun Kumar, had allegedly hit the Assessor with a stone on his head.

The Satpur police have registered a case against the duo for using abusive language, assault, preventing an official from discharging his duty and criminal intimidation.
