Physiotherapists seek new posts

State Forum for Physiotherapist has requested the Tamil Nadu Government to create new posts for them and extend their wing in all the State hospitals, district Primary health centres and taluk hospitals.

President of the forum V. Krishnakumar and General Secretary S. Suresh told newsmen here that they had sent 5,000 telegrams to the Chief Minister to press their demands, including appointment of physiotherapists in all hospitals.

Even the rural people should be benefited by the rehabilitation programme for those who suffered fracture or required physiotherapy, they said.

They also demanded setting up of State Physiotherapist Council and more fund should be allocated for research in the field of Physiotherapy. There were 22,000 physiotherapists who needed a helping hand from the Chief Minister, they said.
