Carmaker Mahindra Renault on Wednesday launched two new variants of its mid-sized sedan for Madurai region – the Logan Play, a new model with both petrol (1.4 GLX) and diesel (1.5 DLX) options.

Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) Senior Regional Sales Manager Tamil Nadu, P.V. Ramachandran, told journalists during the launch ceremony that this was the first time that a variant of Logan was being unveiled in Madurai.

Many improvements have been added to these two variants based upon the feedback from the customers. This car is mainly targeted towards the younger generation, he said.

Many offers have been announced for the festive season that includes Dussehra and Deepavali.

“Around 110 units of Logan were being sold per month in Tamil Nadu at present with Madurai doing around 20. The diesel variant, which offers a mileage of 22 kilometres a litre, seemed to be the preferred model of customers,” said Mr. Ramachandran.

He also handed over the keys to the first buyer of the new variants during the launch programme.

The automaker M&M is part of the Mahindra Group, an automotive, farm equipment, financial services, trade and logistics, automotive components, after-market, IT and infrastructure conglomerate.

Mahindra Renault is a joint venture between M&M and Renault S A, which is a French automaker producing cars, vans, buses, tractors, and trucks.
