Cases filed by Sasikala Pushpa adjourned

February 10, 2017 12:53 am | Updated 12:53 am IST - MADURAI:

The Madras High Court Bench here on Thursday doubted whether Rajya Sabha member Sasikala Pushpa could file petitions to quash two criminal cases registered against her by Thoothukudi police last year when the Supreme Court had granted relief to her on condition that she should cooperate with the police in investigating the cases.

Raised query

Justice G. Chockalingam raised the query and adjourned the hearing on the quash petitions to Monday.

Ms. Pushpa had urged the court to quash a sexual abuse case registered against her on the basis of a complaint lodged by her former domestic aid and another case booked on the charge of ransacking the house of a lawyer who was providing legal assistance to the complainant.
