Advani touches Madurai en route to Rameswaram

Bharatiya Janata Party leader L.K. Advani arrived here on Wednesday on his way to Rameswaram.

Mr. Advani, who flew down by an Indian (Airlines) flight in the afternoon, left for Rameswaram by road.

To perform puja

During his two-day visit, he will perform puja at Rameswaram.

He had brought ‘gangajal' from Gangotri with him, he told reporters.

As scores of party cadres had gathered outside, the former Home Minister walked towards them breaking the security cordon.

He waved at the greeting crowd and accepted shawls.

Mr. Advani was received by party State president Pon. Radhakrishanan and other leaders, including, H. Raja.
