People lined up in reverence and offered worship as the district unit of Isha yoga centre showcased the replica of the 112-foot high Adiyogi to be consecrated at the Velliangiri foothills in Coimbatore district by the Isha yoga centre.

The replica of the Adiyogi, which is all set to enter into the Guinness book of world record was being taken around throughout the State as part of the awareness yatra by the Thenkailaya Bhakti Peravai Iyakkam.

On Monday, a large number of people offered worship as the replica was taken around in Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram and Rameswaram. Mr S Gnanasekaran, local coordinator of the Isha yoga centre, said the metal statue would be consecrated by Sathguru on February 24, coinciding ‘Mahashivratri’.

Raja N Kumarn Sethupathi and Rani Lakshmi, Dr R Baranikumar, Dharani Murugesan, Arima P Mohan, N A Vasudevan, S Jayakumar, J Dinesh Babu, A Ravichandra Ramavanni, G M Stalin, A Adal Arasan, Nambi Narayanan, Aru Subramani and Athma Karthik received the replica at different points.

The yatra received overwhelming response from the public and more in Rameswaram island, Mr Gnanasekaran said. Two yatras were going around, covering north and south Tamil Nadu, he said adding the yatra would draw to a close on February 20 or 21. This was mainly to inform the people about the consecration ceremony and invite them to take part in the ceremony, he added.
