A total of 401 women police recruits passed out of the Police Recruits School (PRS) functioning on the premises at Idayapatti in Madurai district here on Thursday. Commissioner of Police Mahesh Kumar Agarwal reviewed the parade and presented medals to the best trainees on the occasion.
The recruits began with a parade and ended with a cultural performance. The air was festive as many received accolades for their performance.
The armed reserve constables who completed their basic course, ‘Institutional Practical Training,’ wrote examinations and participated in intensive physical training. Their programme began on November 1, 2017 and continued for seven months. They learnt law, parade skills, weapon training and collection of intelligence.
T. Abinaya, secured the overall first rank out of all 41 PRSs in Tamil Nadu. She scored the highest rank in the final written examination and parade training combined. The CoP presented her a black lathi in recognition of her performance.
He said “the passing out ceremony is an important day in the career of a police official. People expect police to be perfect in maintaining law and order, crime and traffic. Recruits must remember that with honesty, sincerity and hard work, they can achieve great heights.”
A total of 100 recruits from the PRS would undergo one month of practical session and armed reserve training at Madurai and 101 all over the district.
