The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) unit in Ernakulam has come up with a four-minute short film, asking the public to deplore any form of corruption. The movie, Don’t be silent , was conceptualised by K. Karthik, VACB Superintendent in Ernakulam, and directed by M. Surendran, a Circle Inspector with the VACB unit here.

The film has a few professional artists playing the key roles, apart from a couple of anti-corruption sleuths. A project completely funded by the VACB Directorate, it was shot on the premises of the taluk office in North Paravur.

The plot revolves around the endeavours of an aged man to obtain a copy of his lost title deed.

“People need to be made aware, in a creative way, of corruption and raising their voice against the menace is very important,” said M. Surendran.

Statewide release

The movie, which has garnered over eight lakh views online and is being repeatedly telecast by a few channels, including the state-owned Doordarshan, is now set for a Statewide theatrical release in a couple of weeks.

“It is slated for release during the upcoming anniversary celebrations of the State government, following which it will be screened at all the government-owned movie halls in Kerala,” officials said.
