Traffic regulations for La Liga tourney in city

The Kochi city police have drawn up elaborative traffic regulations in the wake of the Toyota Yaris La Liga World Football matches to be hosted by the city starting from Tuesday.

The Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadiumwill host matches till July 28. The regulations will be in place on July 24, 27 and 28.

On all the days, no heavy vehicles other than light motor vehicles and service buses will be allowed along the stretch between Edappally and High Court Junction on Banerjee Road after 2 p.m. Parking will be out of bounds along stadium road leading up to Banerjee Road, the road around the stadium and the one behind the stadium leading to Karanakkodam.

Spectators using light motor vehicles should take the Palarivattom-Thammanam route to reach the rear side of the stadium. Light vehicles carrying audience coming from Vyttila side should come to the stadium via SA Road-Kadavanthra-Kathrikkadavu route.

Light vehicles can be parked on the parking ground in front of the stadium, St Albert’s College Ground, Karanakkodam St. Jude Church Ground, IMA Ground, Helipad Ground and KWA ground behind the stadium.

Bigger vehicles can be parked on service roads on both sides of the Edappally-Vyttila stretch of NH, Seaport-Airport Road and International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) Road.

Only service buses will be allowed to enter the city via the Goshree bridge since 2 p.m. on all match days. Heavy vehicles from Thrissur side should drop passengers at Edappally Bypass Junction and park on ICTT Road.

Heavy vehicles from the southern side should drop passengers at Vyttila Junction and park on the service roads of the NH along the Edappally-Vyttila stretch.

Traffic will not be allowed from Kathrikadavu Junction to Karanakodam and Thamanam Junction to Karanakodam Junction from 9.30 p.m.
