The Ernakulam Rural Police have decided to permit the movement of two-wheelers and private four-wheelers from Aluva Railway station to the nearby Pump Junction on an experiment basis from Saturday.

An official release said the change would be in effect for two weeks. The decision was taken at a meeting convened by Rahul R. Nair, Ernakulam Rural Police chief, here. The movement of vehicles was restricted along the stretch as part of the traffic reforms introduced earlier.

However, four-wheelers will not be permitted to move towards Palace Junction from Pump Junction. The traffic situation will be reviewed every week as part of evolving a permanent system.
