Traders’ body backs Broadway clean-up drive

The Kerala Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce (KMCC) welcomed the clean-up drive taken up by the civic authorities on Broadway on Wednesday.

Responding to the developments, K.M. Muhammad Sageer, general secretary of the organisation, said encroachments on footpaths and illegal trade thriving around Broadway had hit those conducting legitimate business.

Illegal trade and indiscriminate parking of vehicles, which have affected vehicular movement on the road, have been driving away customers from the commercial centre. The organisation will continue to support drives to clean up the area, he said.
