State IT delegation to visit Japan

A two-day convention beginning here on Sunday, being organised by Alumni Societies of Association of Overseas Technical Scholarship Kerala, will “open possibilities of cooperation and interaction for the entrepreneurs and students as well”, said Takeda Sadao, senior managing director of the Overseas Human Resources and Industries Development Association here on Saturday.

He told reporters at an interaction that a 10-member IT delegation from Kerala would visit Japan next month, which would explore the possibilities of Ruby, the popular open source programming language from Japan in Kerala.

He said there was wide acceptability for open source programmes in Kerala.

Workshop

A youth leadership workshop and SME-to-SME meet is also being organised as part of the two-day convention, which will inaugurated at the Bolghatty Palace Resort by Vice-Admiral Sunil Lamba at 9.30 a.m.

The convention theme is ASAs in the digital world, opportunities and challenges.
