: An education commission modelled on the lines of Election Commission and the judiciary should be set up in the country, said Dinanath Batra, National Convenor of the Shiksha Bachao Andolan, here on Friday.
In his inaugural address at the national education workshop organised by Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas at Chengamanad near Aluva, Mr. Batra said that the commission should have independent powers to ensure an effective educational system in the country.
According to a release issued by the organisers, Mr. Batra said that development of villages across the nation is the responsibility of schools and universities. Each educational institution need to adopt a village and work for its progress.
