Team discusses avenues for mutual cooperation

A three-member delegation from the Russian Federation Navy (RUFN), headed by Captain 2nd Rank Egor Kitlyar, Chief of Hydrometeorological Section of the Department of Navigation and Oceanography in the Russian Federation (RF), visited the Naval Base in Kochi on Wednesday and Thursday.

METOC

The delegation visited various Indian Navy Meteorological and Oceanographic (IN METOC) operational/ training facilities at Kochi, to discuss avenues for mutual cooperation in the field of METOC and consolidate the existing strong foreign cooperation between the two countries and navies, said a communiqué from the Navy.

On Thursday, the delegation visited Indian Naval Meteorological and Analysis Centre (INMAC), School of Naval Oceanology and Meteorology (SNOM) and Naval Air Station Garuda.

The RUFN delegation also called on Rear Admiral R.J. Nadkarni, Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command, and held discussions on areas of mutual interest. Exchange of mementos as part of normal official courtesies also took place.

The delegation will leave Kochi on Friday.
