Near Hill Palace

The very next day, the same group with 11 members broke into the house of Nannappilli Anandakumar near Hill Palace. They tied up the family members and decamped with 50 sovereigns of gold, three mobile phones and ₹20,000 in cash.

According to officials, the accused had illegally crossed over to India, several times and worked as a ragpickers to collect inputs on targeted houses.

The probe had hit a dead end with the accused splitting into several groups and escaping to various States. Police teams were despatched to Maharashtra, West Bengal and New Delhi in pursuit of the gang members.
