Repair of roads: HCdirective to collector

October 14, 2019 11:45 pm | Updated 11:45 pm IST - KOCHI

The Kerala High Court on Monday directed Ernakulam District Collector S. Suhas to file an affidavit on the steps taken by him to get the potholed roads in the city repaired and action taken against the officials concerned for failing to repair the damaged roads.

Justice Devan Ramachandran passed the directive when a petition filed by C.P. Ajithkumar, proprietor of a travel agency, came up for hearing. According to the petitioner, despite the initiation of action by the collector against the engineers concerned, there had not been any change in the bad condition of the roads.

He sought a directive to the PWD and the Kochi Corporation to immediately repair the damaged roads.

The court asked the collector to file the affidavit by October 17.
