President Ram Nath Kovind was accorded a warm reception on his arrival at the Naval Airport here on Monday.

Governor P. Sathasivam, wife Saraswathy Sathasivam, Chief of Southern Naval Command Vice Admiral A.K. Chawla, and Agriculture Minister V.S. Sunil Kumar were present when the special aircraft of the Navy landed at the airport at 6.10 p.m.

Chief Secretary Tom Jose, Principal Secretary Biswanath Sinha, State Police Chief Loknath Behera, Ernakulam District Collector K. Mohammed Y. Safirulla, Inspector General of Police Vijay Sakhare, and Kochi City Police Commissioner M.P. Dinesh received the President.

The President is scheduled to have a breakfast meeting with the Chief Justice and judges of the High Court at Bolgatty Palace here on Tuesday.

Traffic regulation

The Kochi police have imposed traffic regulations and tightened security in the city in view of the President’s visit.
