KMRL has launche organic farming at its Muttom depot.

Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has joined hands with the Department of Agriculture to implement Thalir, a vegetable-cultivation project.

As part of the project, 30 cents at the Muttom depot will be used for organic farming. For this, Krishibhavan, Choornikkara, will provide 800 grow bags.

Vegetables like brinjal, lady’s finger, tomato, chilli, cucumber, and cool season crops like cabbage, cauliflower, carrot, and beans will be cultivated under the guidance of the Krishibhavan.

Choornikkara grama panchayat president A.P. Udayakumar inaugurated the initiative on Friday by planting vegetable seedlings on the premises.

Through the initiative, KMRL plans to produce safe-to-eat vegetables. They will be distributed among metro employees.
