One arrested under Operation Kubera

A house raid following a tip-off received by Rural District Police Chief G.H. Yatheesh Chandra led to the arrest.

Continuing the crack down on illegal moneylenders under Operation Kubera, the rural police conducted a series of raids and made one arrest on Thursday.

The arrested was identified as Thankappan, 70, of Mappilaparambil House, Kizhakkepra in North Paravur. A raid at his house by a team led by Aluva DySP P.P. Shams, North Paravur Inspector S. Jayakrishnan and sub-inspector T.V. Shibu following a tip-off received by Rural District Police Chief G.H. Yatheesh Chandra led to the arrest.

Many promissory notes, five cheques, and five stamp papers were recovered from the house. Three such raids were conducted by the team within the Chengamanad police station and Njarakkal police station limits respectively.
