: Ever imagined a vessel, which serves out food only if a specified number of calories are burned on an exercise machine attached to it?

Now, that’s what won Mohammed Raziq, a ninth standard student of SNDP High School at Aluva, the best innovative project in Ernakulam in the coding contest using Raspberry Pi.

In fact, the enterprising youngster conceptualised two models of the device, which he named Server Pi. The model designed to fight obesity involved the creation of two products; a server and an exercising machine. “Since we are all concerned about the growing obesity, I felt the need to do something about it. Rather than simply cutting down the food intake, an innovative product like Server Pi would help create an incentive to workout,” Raziq said.

In the other model, the food stored in the server gets served at a pre-set times. This can be a blessing especially for those working who have an aged parent or a patient who needs to be served food on time. “It helps to ensure that the food is served even if you are stuck somewhere and cannot make it home on time,” said Raziq who underwent a training session in basic programming.
