Nefertiti , the Egyptian-themed luxury vessel of Kerala Shipping and Inland Navigation Corporation (KSINC), went on her maiden sea voyage from here on Sunday, carrying around 100 officials of a bank.
The ₹16.42-crore vessel, which is equipped with a 3D theatre, air-conditioned hall, sun deck, banquet hall, bar lounge, and recreational space, can carry 200 passengers upto 20 nautical miles (approximately 36 km) into the sea. Sunday’s trip began from BTP Berth on Willingdon Island at noon and lasted till 7 p.m. KSINC has fixed ₹4.50 lakh as the fare for 125 passengers, while each additional passenger need to pay ₹1,000 for such trips. The fare is inclusive of food and on-board entertainments, said an official.
The ship is named after the beautiful Egyptian queen Nefertiti.
The agency will introduce a jankar on the Perumbalam-Poothotta route near here from Monday.
