: The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) is all set to launch a start-up warehouse in the city by August with the support of Technopark Technology Business Incubator (T-TBI).
This was announced by IT Principal Secretary P.H. Kurian at the second edition of the Nasscom Product Conclave held here on Friday. Purushothaman K, Nasscom’s senior director for Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry said the government has already handed over an independent building with a built-up space of 6,500 sq ft on the Infopark campus.
The move comes in the wake of a visit made by Mr. Kurian and Infopark CEO Hrishikesh Nair to Nasscom’s warehouse at Bangalore. “It will not be like a regular incubator but a knowledge hub, where people can walk in and present ideas, which will be adjudicated by a jury. They will be given both space and mentorship,” Mr. Purushothaman said.
Ably supported by IT giants and Nasscom member companies like Microsoft and Google, visibility would not be a problem and there is every likelihood of receiving funding, said M.S. Sujith Unni, deputy manager of Nasscom, Thiruvananthapuram.
The warehouse will have a board comprising technocrats and two representatives of the State government, which will assess the ideas presented.
