The district administration has started collection of relief materials meant for the quake-hit people of Nepal.

Launching the initiative, district Collector M.G. Rajamanickam called for wholehearted contribution for bringing relief to the people of Nepal. He said that life saving drugs, packed food items, blankets, and new dresses should be delivered at the special counter at the collectorate by May 13. Used or old dresses should not be delivered.

The relief materials would be despatched to Raxaul railway station in Bihar with the help of Indian Railways from where it would be transported to Nepal.

The collection centre had been set up alongside the office of Nehru Yuva Kendra on the fourth floor of the civil station.
