The CPI(M) district conference, which began here on Tuesday, demanded more projects for the development of the district.

The projects that were announced earlier should also be completed, said a resolution passed at the meeting.

The conference congratulated the State government for its decision to set up petrochemical complexes in the holding of the FACT at Ambalamedu.

The State government had also announced projects worth ₹300 crore for the health sector of the district, said the resolution.

The city gas project, which could provide safe cooking gas to households, was progressing at a snail’s pace. The State government should step in to speed up the project, it said. The meeting also demanded steps for the implementation of Water Metro.
