: The city police on Wednesday arrested a person from Eloor as part of the Operation Kubera against illegal money lenders. The arrested was identified as Arjun, 48, of North Eloor, who was arrested following a tip off. The police also raided his house and recovered 12 blank stamp papers and 20 blank cheques. The accused was into illegal money lending business for last several years. Arjun will be produced before the court on Thursday.
Liquor seized
The police on Wednesday seized 75 litres of Indian made foreign liquor from an unoccupied house near Kalady.
According to police, the seizure was made following a raid conducted at an empty house owned by one Poulo. The raid was carried out on the basis of a tip-off that unidentified persons had been engaged in unauthorised sale of liquor in the locality.
