Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran will inaugurate the second edition of the International Conference on Tourism Technology (ICTT) here on June 9.

The second edition of the ICTT, being held between June 8 and 10, would focus ‘on the most pertinent aspects of building businesses on technology platforms, said a press release issued here. The inauguration is scheduled for 9 a.m. at Hotel Le Meridien.

The topics include managing online reputation; using Whatsapp, Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram and other tools for product marketing; writing content for websites and blogs; making payment gateways more efficient; and video marketing on Facebook Live and YouTube.

Dr. Venu will launch the twitter campaign #Kerala #IndiaForBeginners on the sidelines of the event, being organised by the Association of Tourism Trade Organisation (ATTOI) with the support of Kerala Tourism.

“Earlier, the online platform was viewed as a big threat to the tourism trade. However, the inception of ICTT explored different ways to convert this threat into an opportunity. Around 500 delegates, including tour operators, hoteliers, resort owners, home stays, SEO (search engine optimisation) companies, software firms, social media marketing companies and bloggers, are expected to attend the conference,” said ATTOi president Anish Kumar P.K.

Over 15 experts from around the world will offer their insights on 24 different topics related to online promotion of business.
