The two accused in a case relating to the torching of the P Krishna Pillai memorial at Alappuzha have expressed their willingness to undergo a polygraph test before the Kerala High Court.

The submission was made by counsel for the accused Latheesh B. Chandran and Sabu before Justice Alexander Thomas. The court then closed a petition filed by them seeking a CBI probe in the case, after recording the submission.

When the petition came up for hearing, the government submitted that the State Police Chief had complied with the directives of the court to consider whether a fresh probe needed to be conduced in the case.

The State Police Chief informed the court that the Additional Director General of Police (Crimes) had been directed to constitute a fresh investigation team under the present investigating officer P.B. Rajiv. He had ordered the new team to complete the investigation in six months.
