: In view of the mounting complaints against Khadamat Integrated Solutions Pvt Ltd (KISPL), the Kuwait government has returned the right for conducting medical screening of job aspirants leaving for Kuwait to the GCC Approved Medical Centres Association (GAMCA), according to K. Sreenivasan, President of the Manpower exporters Association.
As a result, job aspirants to Kuwait can undergo screening procedure at GAMCA centres in Kerala by paying a fee of Rs 3,600.
GAMCA has five centres in locations including Kochi, Manjeri, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram.
Mr Sreenivasan said the Kuwait Embassy in New Delhi has issued a circular with regard to authorising GAMCA for conducting the tests and handed it over to the authorised recruitment agencies in the country.
The step comes amid reports that KISPL has decided to reduce its fee for medical screening processes from Rs 24,000 to Rs 16,000.
The right to conduct medical screening of job applicants to Kuwait were transferred from the Gulf Approved Medical Centre Association (GAMCA) to KISPL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kuwait’s Public Service Company on May 18.
However, job aspirants approached the police against the agency as it reportedly charged Rs 24,000 as fee for medical examination as against Rs 3,600 charged by GAMCA.
On June 4, KISPL suspended its operations in Kerala after the issue was taken up by Emigration Department in Delhi, forcing the candidates to undergo the screening at its centre in Mumbai.
