Manu Roy, an advocate in the Kerala High Court and son of veteran journalist K.M. Roy, is said to have been nominated by the district unit of the LDF as the coalition’s candidate in the by-election to the Ernakulam Assembly constituency. He was an active member of the SFI during his college days. He is likely to contest as an Independent with LDF support. The official declaration of the candidate will be made on Friday.
