Manoj murder: three CPI(M) activists get bail

Release of the accused on their executing a bond for Rs.3 lakh each with two solvent sureties to the like sum.

A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Thursday granted bail to three CPI(M) workers in the case relating to the murder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker E. Manoj in Thalassery.

The Bench comprising Justice V.K. Mohanan and Justice Raja Vijayaraghavan ordered the release of the accused on their executing a bond for Rs.3 lakh each with two solvent sureties to the like sum to the satisfaction of the Thalassery sessions court. Those who got bail were third accused Prakasan C., eleventh accused Krishnan, and twelfth accused A. Ramachandran.

The court, while granting bail, said their continued detention was not warranted and they could be released on bail on stringent conditions. The court ordered that the accused should not enter the limit of Kannur district except for reporting before the investigation officer.
