The Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court has acquitted Xavier of Thevara in a case of murdering Parameswaran while the latter was sleeping at the verandah of a shop at Kaloor on January 18, 2014.
The court set the accused free after finding out that there were not enough evidence to link the accused to the crime.
Mr. Xavier has been accused of murdering nine other persons over a period of 10 years.
