Adbul Majeed Abdul Bari, Minister of Religious Affairs of the Maldives government, alleged here on Sunday that certain “anti-Muslim forces” were deliberately “misinterpreting” the holy Quran as to impart a “label of terrorism” to Islam.

He was inaugurating a State-level meet of the Ithihadu Shubbanil Mujahideen (ISM) in Kozhikode, organised as part of the 15th anniversary of its Quran learning centres.

Dr. Bari said “terrorising of Islam was part of an international conspiracy.”

He said the Quran did not give room for terrorism while imparting an all encompassing and comprehensive philosophy for peaceful and prosperous life. ISM State president Mujeeb-ur Rahman presided over the function.
