Excise sleuths have seized Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) stamps and arrested two youngsters who were found in possession of them.

Rahul, 22, of Chenthamangalam, and Febin, 21, of Vadakkekkara, were arrested from near the Ambattukavu metro station allegedly with 48 LSD stamps.

An excise team led by Inspector P.K. Gopi seized the contraband after intercepting a premium car .

“LSD stamps are making an entry into the city after a gap. While it is easy to smuggle them in, they are susceptible to decomposition if exposed to sunlight, making their preservation tough,” said Ashok Kumar T.K., divisional assistant excise commissioner.

The accused reportedly confessed to have brought it from Goa for a price ranging between ₹1,000 and ₹1,500 per stamp. It could be sold for ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 per stamp, Mr. Kumar said.

An excise team picked up another person with 250 grams of ganja after approaching the peddler masquerading as drug dealers.
