Work to distribute land title deeds to 1,900 more families in Ernakulam district is nearing completion. A communication from the Public Relations Department said the distribution of the new title deeds was being done as part of the completion of one year of the State government in office.

The work was speeded up as part of the second 100-day programme of the State government. The title deeds were expected to be handed over to the beneficiaries next month, the communication added.

The new title deeds include 1,000 in the Land Tribunal category, 200 from the district Collectorate through the Land Reforms department, 500 from Kothamangalam taluk and 200 from other taluks.

The communication said 530 title deeds had been distributed after the new government came to office a year ago. A total of 6,217 title deeds were distributed during the period when the previous government was in office. It is expected that a total of 30,000 land title deeds will be distributed across the State as part of the 100-day action plan of the government.
