Karayi brothers move court

Karayi Rajan and Karayi Chandrashekharan, CPI(M) leaders from Kannur and seventh and eighth accused in the Thalassery Fazal murder case, have approached CBI court seeking permission for moving to Kannur as part of local body elections for two days on November 1 and 2.

In a petition filed on Wednesday, the duo, who is also contesting the local body elections, also stated that they would report before the court on November 3.

The court is slated to hear the petition on Thursday. Mr. Rajan is contesting to the Kannur district panchayat from Pattyam division, a CPM stronghold while Chandrasekharan is the party candidate at Chellath Ward in Thalassery Municipality.

Earlier, the duo had obtained permission from the court for moving to Kannur to file their nominations.
