The Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court will pronounce its judgment on Monday in the second case relating to the sexual abuse of a minor girl from North Paravur.

The police have arraigned six persons including Sudhir and Subaida, parents of the girl in the second case. The other accused are Unnikrishnan, a resort owner from Varkala; Noby, Unnikrishnan’s friend; Vijayan, a backstage worker, and Biju, an assistant film director.

The charges against the accused include rape, violation of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act and different sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

Twelve other chargesheets have been filed in the court relating to the sexual abuse case.

The victim had identified all the accused in the case, police officials said.

The police have arrested 104 persons in connection with the case. The investigating officers of the case said that 25 persons, some staying abroad, too would be arrested. The court had earlier sentenced Mr. Sudhir to life imprisonment besides slapping a fine of Rs 50,000.

The charge against the convict was that he raped his 14-year-old daughter in April 2009 at the bedroom of their house and later forced her into the flesh trade.

The court had found him guilty of offences under section 376 (rape), and one-year imprisonment under section 506 (1) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

He was also sentenced to undergo six month simple imprisonment under section 23 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.

In its judgment, the court observed that charge of raping his own daughter “under his refuge and fortress” was worse than the game-keeper becoming a poacher and treasury guard becoming a robber”.
