The long-standing demand of the shipping community in Kochi has been answered with the opening of a seaport immigration office at the International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT), Vallarpadam.

A statement issued by the Cochin Port Trust said it had taken proactive steps with the support of the terminal operator there to set up the new facility with support and sponsorship from Cochin Steamer Agents’ Association.

The new office facility will improve ease of doing business through ICTT and is a big relief to the Immigration Department officials who had to travel through busy city roads till now to carry out their duties at the container terminal.
