Hotels warned

The Health Wing of the Kochi Corporation has issued notices to a few eateries in the city for improving hygiene.

Notices were issued to Azad Hotel, Market Road; K. R. Bakers, Thoppumpady; Ashok Bhavan, Banerji Road; Browns Restaurant, Banerji Road and Hotel Badria, Market Road on Wednesday.

The hotels were asked to improve the general hygienic conditions especially in kitchens.

If they failed to improve the sanitary conditions within a week, they would be closed down, said T.K. Ashraf, chairman of the Health Standing Committee of the Kochi Corporation.

The health squad of the corporation had inspected 10 eateries in the city. Inspections would continue during the week, he said.
