Higher secondary results: Ernakulam district schools record 85.85% pass

As many as 27,383 students become eligible for higher studies

Schools in Ernakulam district recorded a pass percentage of 85.85% in the State Higher Secondary Plus Two Examination, the results of which were published on Wednesday.

Of the 32,020 students who appeared for the exam, 27,383 became eligible for higher studies. In the government school category, 8,342 students became eligible for higher studies, while the pass percentage clocked by government schools was 79.84. Schools in the aided category won a pass percentage of 89.85 after 17,095 of the 19,026 students who wrote the exam cleared it.

Schools in the unaided category earned a pass percentage of 76.18, and 1,916 of the 2,515 students became eligible for higher studies. Special schools in the district achieved 100% success.

St. Mary’s GHSS, Ernakulam; SNDP HSS, Aluva; Mary Matha English Medium HSS, Thrikkakara; St. Anne’s HSS, Eloor; Fatima Matha HSS, Piravom; Govt. HSS, Muppathadom; Govt. HSS, Cheranalloor; Model Residential School, Keezhmadu; St. Joseph’s Girls HSS, Karukutty, and St. Clare Oral School for the Deaf, Manickamangalam, Kalady, were among the schools that recorded 100% success. As many as 1,388 students won A-Plus in all subjects.

Students who won 100% marks in the district are: Afeena N.A. (Science), Govt. HSS, North Paravur; Ananya Krishna A. (Science), Govt. HSS, Perumbavoor; Alin C. (Science), SNM HSS, Moothakunnam, Ernakulam; Aparna E. Soman (Science), SNM HSS, Moothakunnam; Lekshmi Nair U. (Commerce), St. Teresa’s CGHSS, Ernakulam; Lakshmi Akshara Raj (Science), St. Mary’s GHSS, Ernakulam; Archana Rajan (Science), St. Augustine’s CGHSS, Kothamangalam; Lakshmipriya Nair (Science), SN HSS, North Paravur; Ann Antu (Science), NSS HSS, Parakadavu; Sachin Sajeev (Science), Brahmanandodaya HSS, Kalady; Aleena Paul (Science), St. Augustine’s GHSS, Muvattupuzha, and Aswathy S. Nair (Science) Valayanchirangara HSS.

In the technical school category, 71.33% students became eligible for higher studies. Of the 429 students who appeared for the exam, 306 became eligible for higher studies. Eight students secured A-Plus in all subjects.

CBSE exams

Kendriya Vidyalaya schools under the regional office of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan, Ernakulam, registered impressive performance in Plus One and Plus Two examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

In the Plus Two section, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ernakulam, won 119 distinctions. The number of distinctions won by other Kendriya Vidyalaya schools are: Aluva NAD (84); Cochin No. 1 (66); Cochin No. 2 (115); Cochin PT (67), and INS Dronacharya (84).

Distinctions secured in Plus One examination: Ernakulam (168); Aluva NAD (103); Cochin No.1 (115); Cochin No.2 (121); Cochin PT (70), and INS Dronacharya (82).
