Held with deer antler

The city shadow police arrested a person with sambar deer antler, which was to be allegedly smuggled out to Singapore. Georly George, 47, of North Paravur was arrested with four-feet long horn from a secret hideout at Kalamassery following a tip-off received by District Police Chief (Kochi) M.P. Dinesh. The accused reportedly confessed to have sourced the horn from a hunting group operating along the Bandipur wildlife sanctuary in Karnataka. J. Himendranath, Deputy Commissioner of Police, said that the accused will be handed over to Kodanad Forest Range Officer.

T. Biji George, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, guided the operation by a team led by A.B. Vibin, Sub Inspector, and civil police officers T.A. Afasal, Sanu, Shaji and M.K. Shajimon.
