The city police on Sunday arrested a 40-year-old man who allegedly sent sexually explicit pictures to a minor girl through social media. The arrested is Pradeep Kumar, a native of Pathirappilly in Alappuzha.
He used to send indecent pictures to the 13-year-old girl from Maradu using a fake profile.
Besides sending pictures, he demanded the girl to send her pictures in compromising positions. Preliminary investigations revealed that the girl had got in touch with the accused using her father’s mobile.
The accused has been booked under the provisions of the IT Act and the POCSO Act and was remanded in custody.
