Hearing on the plea against KSEB strike adjourned

April 19, 2022 09:06 pm | Updated 09:06 pm IST - KOCHI

The Kerala High Court on Tuesday adjourned to April 26 hearing on a writ petition seeking to declare illegal the strike by the KSEB officers.

The petition was filed by Arun Jose of Wayanad. According to him, the strike was illegal and it had affected the fundamental right of the public. No organisation could hold the public to ransom for meeting their demands. The officers were expected to serve the public, as they were paid by the public. The strike would disrupt the power supply in the State and as a result, would affect tourism and other sectors.

It would also contribute to global warming as business establishments would start using diesel generators in the event of power disruptions.
