HC order to deactivate Interpol notice

The Kerala High Court on Wednesday asked the CBI to make a request to Interpol to deactivate a red corner notice issued against an accused in a case registered by the Customs authorities for 15 days so as to enable him to reach the country. Justice B. Kemal Pasha issued the order on a petition filed by Allungal Asharaf. According to him, he was an accused in a crime registered by the Customs authorities. According to him, Interpol had now issued a red corner notice on a request of the CBI. He said due to the red corner notice, he was not able to travel to the country.

The court observed that the red corner notice should be deactivated so that the petitioner could procure an emergency certificate from the Consul General of Dubai, for his travel to the country.
