Gold lockets’ sale: court to consider plea on Friday

The Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court will consider a petition on Friday seeking a probe into the sale of gold lockets at Chottanikkara temple by accepting demonetised notes. As per the complaint, the temple authorities sold 32 gold lockets worth ₹9.76 lakh and ₹24.48 lakh on November 9 and 10 respectively by accepting the demonetised notes.

The notes were later deposited in the Vijaya Bank branch in Chottanikkara.
