: Flight operations at the Cochin International Airport Limited were affected late on Tuesday after an Air India flight that landed here from Riyadh moved off the assigned path on the runway.

The incident took place around 11 p.m. when the aircraft reached the taxiway while being shifted to the parking bay. Following this, the flight had to be pushed back to the runway and taken to the bay. “The plane just deviated from the path assigned and had to be pushed back to the right track. All passengers deplaned safely,” CIAL officials said.

Meanwhile, they denied reports of the aircraft hitting the runway lights. The aircraft operated its return leg a couple of hours later after due check-ups. Air traffic was closed for about two hours at the airport. “The take off of at least three aircraft, including the Thiruvananthapuram-bound flight carrying Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, were delayed by 45 minutes,” officials added.
