Company earns ₹210 crore from sales

The public sector Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore has shown record sales performance in October with the company selling 1.24 lakh tonnes of fertilizers, including 84,000 tonnes of Factamfos.

The sale of 1.24 lakh tonnes is a record for the last 24 years, the previous best being 1.34 lakh tonnes during October 1995. The sale of Factamfos is the highest ever for the period between April and October this financial year. The total sales so far this year has added up to 6.16 lakh tonnes and it is a high over the last eight years, said a company statement.

FACT also sold 34,000 tonnes of ammonium sulphate in October, a new record. The company also sold 13,000 tonnes of FACT Organic (City compost), which is also a record.

FACt also saw a cash collection of ₹210 crore during the month of October from sales.

Factamfos is the company’s bread earner and a complex fertilizer in great demand across South India. FACT has been able to reduce the price of Factamfos twice during the current financial year.

In the meanwhile, the public sector company, despite its constraints, is preparing to increase manufacturing capacity by using ₹978 crore it has gained from the sale of about 480 acres to the government of Kerala. Chairman and managing director Kishor Rungta had said last month that about ₹700 crore of the money would be utilised as capital investment.
