Identified as Deltas, the accused is a resident of Saudi, Mattancherry.

Tablets seized

Excise officials also seized 120 nitrazepam tablets from the accused. He had brought the contraband from Salem in Tamil Nadu for sale here.

Deltas was nabbed by sleuths led by Ernakulam Excise Inspector B. Sumesh.

According to an Excise official, the accused was on the department’s radar for the last two weeks following a tip-off from informers.

However, it was difficult to track him as he did not use mobile phones.

Officials said Deltas would store drugs in the storage space of his scooter and deliver them to youths and students. The scooter has also been seized.

A case was registered against Deltas under the NDPS Act. He has been remanded.
